Trying to get someone out of jail? In Austin, there are several kinds of bail bonds available. It is often possible for a lawyer to help get a person out of jail on a personal bond (released on the promise to appear in court) when that person failed to qualify on his or her own and is still in jail. For more difficult situations, there is a version of a personal bond called a cash deposit bond, which is a personal bond requiring a deposit of cash with the jail before the person can be released.
As an attorney, I am often able to get a person out of jail on a personal bond or cash deposit bond. When I get someone out of jail this way, I am also required to represent the person in court on their charges. I apply the fee for the bail bond towards the fee for representation in court.
Finally, if I am unable to get the person out of jail on one of these types of bond, there are bail bond services available which post surety bonds. These bonds require a non-refundable fee for the jail release. In return, the surety guarantees that the person will appear in court.
